Our History
Lerumo was founded in 1993 as Information and Logistic Consultancy (ILC) and was rebranded as Lerumo (“Spear”) in 2004. The company’s origins are firmly rooted in the South African Defence sector, where it developed deep expertise in weapon system management and the application of logistics, engineering, and asset management disciplines across the full asset lifecycle.
During the early 2000s, Lerumo expanded its footprint into the telecommunications industry, delivering projects and services across Africa and the Middle East. This regional exposure provided valuable insight into the challenges associated with managing complex, distributed, and asset-intensive operations in diverse operating environments. As a result, Lerumo broadened its service offerings beyond defence and telecommunications to address the lifecycle management needs of corporate and infrastructure assets across multiple industry sectors.
Over time, Lerumo evolved its methodologies and service capabilities around the disciplines now commonly referred to as Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Field Service Management (FSM). These disciplines form the foundation of the Lerumo solution suite, which is built upon proven EAM and FSM frameworks designed to align business strategy with operational execution.
